I often wonder what the reason for a deposition in Family is for. I have done them, but mostly, I have to attend the deposition with my clients. At times, they are useful, but in few and far between cases (my opinion). In most of the cases that I have to attend with my clients that are great money makers for the attorneys! You pay the hourly rate for the attorney, the court reporter and the cost to transcribe the deposition.

As an Attorney in Family Law I often get asked, what are the odds of the Judge doing this or that? One tactic Attorney's will do is to tell you that the odds are fantastic in your favor, no matter the situation. I will not do that!!!!! I would rather tell you my experience in certain situations than guarantee certain outcomes.

I understand divorce is painful and you may want to be spiteful, but it is never really a good idea. It is always a good idea to think about the consequences of your actions. For example, in a divorce case, it may not be a good idea to get your soon to be ex fired or deny your ex time with the children.
