Child support, help!!!!!!!!

I just had a baby in august and I filed for medicaid for her because I am a full time student and do not work but he takes care of her with out the help of the court system so why do they want to get him for child support? Would it be better off for me to just get insurance through a private company instead and ahve him pay for it? PLease help I don't want him to ahve to go through that considering he's raising her prety much by himself.

Applying for medicaid triggered your situation. It is the state's way of decreasing a child's need for public tax dollars. You can call the Dept of Revenue but they may not be willing to lay off of him.

You can always give the child support back to him each month.
