    Default Child Support and SSI

In regards to child supporticon, how is it calculated when the children receive SS? For example while keeping this very basic... I make 2000/month and my wife receives 1000/month from social security disability and the children receive a combined amount of 500/month from SS because my wife is disabled.

This seems to really confuse me.

    Thank you

If the children receive a check from SS - that amount reduces the obligation of the parent that causes the check to be paid. In other words, it would only reduce the Mother's obligation in this particular case.

What makes this calculation tricky is SS disability payments do not count in the child supporticon calculation. It does not count because typically the children are already receiving support from the government based on the parents disability.
