    Default Judge order attorney stunned

My final divorce stated my x wife and 2 children would remain in home until youngest turns 18. I pay child supporticon, and assets have been divided.I have no retirement, 401 or pension. The judgeicon ordered the home sold when youngest turns 18. When house sells the proceeds are divided. Out of x husbands 1/2 for every month x wife pays mortgage she will receive 1/2 of mortage out of x husbans proceeds. It is very general and not specific on divorce order. What is this and why? If this is considered alimonyicon and if so does it stop when x wife gets re-married? How would I address this with taxes, divorced in 2007. x wife had a full time job throughout marriage, married for 14 years.

I believe payment of mortgage for another spouse is a form of alimonyicon. But there are many openings for argument in that theory. It sounds like your final judgement is ambiguous. You would benefit from a detailed reading and opinion on your final judgment.

Sorry I am so unclear - but so are the facts. Contact us if you would like a flat fee for a review of the documents.
