married an alien
Married too quickly someone who obviously just wanted to immigrate to the United States. I have filed for divorce after 2 years and have injunction. Since he never contributed to the month to month bills (ie mortgage, elect, water, cable, etc). I got him a social security card and work permit based on the fact he said he would get a job. Two years and no job and I have had no help. He did have some money he brought over, but it was spent on his immigration attorney and taking me out to dinner on weekends( his idea not mine...I would have rather help on the bills, but he wouldn't do it), and on things he wanted to spend it on NOT on the bills. Due to this farce, I have had to put college son's(my son) tuition on credit cards, car repairson my car(a car he drove all day while I was at work), airline tickets, etc on my credit cards as there was no additional money. Is he responsible for any of this debt that I accumulated during the marriage due to his misrepresentation that he would help pay some of the day to day bills other than some food bills?

Both of you are jointly responsible for almost all debts run up during the marriage. The only exception here are the debts incurred on your adult son. Those will not be a joint responsibility.
