Default Husband moved out of house, is he still responsible for the bills?

Hello. My husband and I seperated and he moved out of our house and now stays with a family member rentfree. My 5 year old son and I are still in the house. I am currently taking classes and am not employed. I am two months behind on my mortgage. Someone said he should still be responsible for the bills because we are still married. He says he's not because he isn't on the mortgage just the deed. Any information on this would be appreciated. In the meantime I am looking for work and plan to use my tax money to try and catch up on the payments. I don't know what else to do. I am also being told I need to get a lawyer and get a provisional order, but it goes back to not having the money to do so. I am in a big rut! Thanks for any help.

You may be able to get a temporary order. But it is true - you really should have a lawyer.

You should apply for services at your local legal aid.

As an alternative, you can apply to the Florida Dept of Revenue child supporticon Enforcement - for a child support order.

    Default Thanks!

Thank You! I have applied with Legal aid and they said they would see if I qualified for a free consultation over the phone. It has been 2 weeks and still haven't heard from them. I also filed for child supporticon and they said it could take up to a year for that. Thanks again for your info! I think this forum is Great!
