    Default Losing Hope in Florida

Hi. I am new to this site and seeking preliminary information on past due child supporticon by a Veteran. I have been divorced for 3 years and my marriage, in part, is a casualty of the Iraq War. My ex has had another child, married and in the process of divorcing again. He has moved out of the State and is now living with his parents. I haven't received a child support payment since December of last year (and that was a partial payment). My child support payments are made to the State. Will the State enforce disbursement? Is it possible to garnish my Ex's Disability? He is living at home with little to no expenses. And, now he has yet another dependent that he will be responsible for and I am fearful that my child will not be cared for as ordered by the Court.

You should put in an application with the Florida Dept of Revenue, child supporticon enforcement.

Yes, certain types of benefits can be garnished.

Yes, ultimately the state will enforce the support. But sometimes they are very slow.
