    Default Is he entitled to half of the downpayment back?

    I married a guy from Jamaica in 2008 we split in 2009. I took care of him he did not start working until the end of 2009. He gave me 4000 ( from the sell of a home of his in Jamaica)for a down payment on a used car that we all needed.Now he wants half of the 4000 back. Is he entitled?
