    Unhappy child support..

    greetings..

my husband after 10 years was going to leave the country where we lived to start a new life with a girl that he had been having an affair with for years and i found out so i summond him to court where i was seeking only child supporticon.

an order was placed and he agreed, signed and then left the country to move to the usa.. i then decided to also move to the usa with our 2 children in hopes to start a new and have a good life for my babies.. he paid for a few months and then stopped.. over a year passed..i filed for support in st thomas where i lived and it took forever.. a year passed and things got drastic and for my childrens welfare and mine i was forced to move back to the islands.. he then came to the islands to get visitation and we went back to court.. he was only made to pay 3 months arrears and then his usual monthly payment thereafter.. he again left the island without paying and to this day is still not paying.. the island doesnt have anything in place so he is not being held responsible under the current order that we have in place from the islands..

finally he got served from the usa child support order that i filed so long ago and told me hes getting a lawyer because an order is already in place and so he will handle that and not pay through the usa.. however he is not and does not comply to the current order and knows they cannot do anything as he resides in the usa..

my question is can he avoid the usa filed child support documents that I filed because i am not currently in the usa..

i want to move back but i need to ensure that i have some financial assistance enforced in which he cannnot evade and the usa support that I filed is my only hope because thats where he works and resides..

our children are now 5 and 10 and he left since they were 2 and 8
he is financially capable of getting lawyers to help him evade his responsibilities and it has happened over and over and I am left to struggle on my own.

There may be a problem with jurisdiction. In other words, the US courts may not have the authority to impose a support order against him. This is a complex situation and the answers may be unsure and expensive.
