Unhappy Have I made a mistake?

Filed for divorce in January 2010. I moved 42 miles from where the children go to elementary school (St. Augustine) and decided to let them finish school where they are. I moved because I work in Jacksonville (making less than $30,000 per year) and my family lives here as well. I have one night a week visitation and every other weekend due to the mileage distance. In the long run, I am hoping for primary custody after the school year finishes.

My question: Does my moving reflect poorly on me because now I have less interaction with the children? In my mind it was a rational choice but I'm not sure how the law sees it and am terrified that it looks like I'm an absentee parent, which I am not!

Yes, it was a bad choice. Good for the children, bad for your case. Move back immediately to try to undo the damage. The courts tend to take temporary patterns and make them permanent.
