Trial Separation???

Is a trial separation recognize in FLorida? I am looking to attempt a trial separation for about 6 months, but want to cover all the aspect on properties, assets with an attorney, so that if we decided to go for separation everything has been decided. I don't want him to take me to the cleaners as he has been taking care of all our finances. I have been supporting the home for the last 4.5 yrs, he financial support has been minimal although he is employable but has chosen not to.

You may want to negotiate and sign a Marital Settlement Agreement - that will cover all the bases. After that is done, the Safest Way is to file a divorce case, and then sign an agreement to suspend the case for a 6-month period.
