Default question about timing of filing

I am currently separated from my husband; he has told me he wishes to be divorced. We have been married for 11 months, we have no joint property, finances, assets or children together. My question is: if he was to have a financial hardship (such as foreclosure on his home or bankruptcy), will this affect me and my financial scores? Would I be in any way responsible for his debt?
I am asking because if this is the case, I feel as though I should go ahead and file for divorce now. If it would not be the case, then I can delay filing and/or wait for him to file.
Thank you for your time and response to my question.

Nothing will affect your credit unless you are directly on that loan or debt.
