Default Contempt of court for not removing ex from HELOC

I was given the house in our divorce agreement but my ex was on the second mortgage. I was ordered to remove her name but couldn't qualify for a refinance. I was then ordered to place the house on the market, which I did, however I lost the house to foreclosure before it sold. I have been served by her attorney for contempt of court and am at a loss for how to proceed. The balance on the HELOC is $36,000 and have no ability to pay it...HELP!

The rule on contempt is that you must have the ability to comply with the order. No ability = No Contempt.
