Question Ex-Husband moved out of State

    Hi,
My daughter's father is divorced with 4 children who live with their mother in FL where the case was originally filed. She left the state without a warning and he wasn't even able to say goodbye. She said that her job and the schools were better so the courts agreed to let her leave. So then he moved up to MI where we live now to live with my mother. That was two and half years ago and now I have a great job and a new home but his job isn't so good. He couldn't afford to live in FL or to travel to see his children. He used to make at least double then what he makes now and she moved back to FL. She told the courts that he has the ability to make more than he does now but since he has a Non-violent domestic violence from 2005 and he was fired from his last job on top of the fact that MI's economy isn't doing well, he hasn't been able to get a job anywhere other than this corner store and they are charging him the same amount that he was charged when he made more. He can't travel to go to the court dates and now they are about to take away his license. He can't even afford to see his children and he has lived here for over a year now and hasn't even worked that last job for over 4 years now. We broke up end of 2008 and he moved back in with her and she dropped the original child supporticon order including any back child support. He moved back 04-2009 and she filed to start the child support back up. I know this is drama with a capital D! So I guess the question is, What can he do about preventing the license from being suspended? How can he fight from out of state and what can he do about her moving around so much and the fact that he can't see them and hasn't seen them in over a year?

Unfortunately he is going to need an attorney to handle this kind of thing. He needs to get his child supporticon changed to a level that corresponds with his income. The court will also set a reasonable repayment rate on arrears. Most of the time the court will give him another chance on his driver license.

I don't see a way out of this mess without an attorney.
