Unhappy What age can child decide

Stepson is 14 and now has decided he no longer wants to come over for visitation. His mother has never wanted him to have a relationship with his father. It's a standard agreement, every other weekend and Wednesday. We went to court last year and agreed to rotating custody thru the summer. She has since had 4 x3rd degree felony charges against her, which she's in a pre trial diversion program w/deferred prosecution. At what age do judges tend to slant decisions to what teens want. She has also had a couple extra marital affairs and told stepson about them, which he told me all about. Apparently she and her present husband use stepson as a sounding board and confidant. She has denied visitation before but of course now she's letting him decide what he wants to do so SHE"S not doing the denying, but fits so nicely into her agenda. We have a lawyer but I don't want to waste our money if her moral character and his immature view of life and priorities wont' be taken into consideration. Thank you in advance.

Children never completely decide. At 14, their opinion is relevant but getting that opinion in front of a judgeicon may be complex and expensive.

    Moral character is always considered.
