    Default out of state custody

My two children (12 & 13) live with their mother in Tallahasee. I just found out that her boyfriend is living with them. The way that I found this out is that he is a registered sex offender who was just released from prison after 13+ years. He list her address as his permanent residence on the Florida sex offenders registry. This is only one, granted a big one, of the many things that she has done to make her an unfit mother. The problem is that I am in the Air Force and currently live in Nebraska. I have joint custody of the kids and have paid her $1000 a month in child supporticon since we seperated in 2003. I have been remarried for almost 5 years now. I have a stable home, steady income and my wife is more than ready to step up to be the mother my ex is not. What chance is there that the state would allow the kids to come live with us permantly rather than just a summer visit. I am already looking for a lawyer in Florida and will be pursuing a child custody hearing. I cannot allow my 12 year old daughter be exposed to this person and I cannot allow my 13 year old son learn to be a man from him.

Thank you for your help and information

I think you have a very good chance. Keep in mind that a modificationicon / Relocation case is a pretty big deal and can be expensive and complex.
