    Default Child Support Enforcement

I recently sent my paperwork to the Department of Revenue for enforcement. I was recently told that I should have hired an attorney for this purpose because I will be the one under investigation for how much money I make and all arrears and future payments will be negotiated to a lower amount.

Is that an acurrate statment of what happens if you file with the DOR for enforcement?

The Department of Revenue for child supporticon Enforcement will look at both parents' incomes and will assess any arrears. They should only lower the amount of child support if one of you petitions them to do so and provides evidence of a substantial change in circumstances. Usually if the arrears are lowered in their totality it is because the parents have come to an agreement.
