Angry Forgery of spouses name on marriage licsense- What now?

Hello and thank you in advance.

I am on here regarding my fiance. He married a woman in Jan 2007. He was in the navy and constantly going off on deployments and other bases. He lived with the other spouse for a period of 6-12 months off and on before completely seperating in May 2008. We began dating in May 2009 and got engaged in Jan 2010. He was released form the Navy after serving his term of 7 years. He was told by the spouse that she had began divorce papers. We then did not hear from her for quite some time. Come to find out she did not file papers for divorce and is now with-holding information from my fiance to do his taxes for last yr and the year before bc she went ahead and filed as married making it so he could not file as married filing seperate. She now won't give of the information and will not return any of our phone calls. We have decided to do the papers now ourselves to make sure it gets done. We ordered the marriage licsense to check if the social was on there so he could at least do his taxes. Come to find out he did not even sign the marriage licsense according to him and by looking at the signatures they look nothing like his. Keep in mind he was deployed quite often. SHe is now asking for alimonyicon but they have been living in seperate apartments for 2 years on seperate incomes.

What type of alimony can she get? What can we do about the taxes issue? What do we do about the marriage liscence? Have it annulled or simply file for divorce?

    Again thank you in advance.

if she forged his signature, you can have the marriage annulled. Annullments are very hard to get and cost just as much or more than a divorce. His marriage is very short term, there most likely will not be any alimonyicon ordered. Especially if she has been supporting herself for the last two years almost.

I am not a tax attorney or expert of any sort, so you should contact an accountant or tax attorney or the IRS and they can help you with the tax issue.

I would have her served with divorce papers.
