Default Will new job affect poss Alimony?

    Good evening,
First time posting here! I have been married a little over 5 years. We have two kids together ages 4.5 and 2. I have been a stay at home mom since the birth of my first child. We have started considering getting a divorce. I am about to get my Real Estate License and have been told that if I start working (not necessarily making money given our current market situation) it may affect alimonyicon if I am awarded any. Will this be true? My husband makes over 100k a year but we are upside down on our home. We do ot have any CC debt. Wondering if I can get some months of financial help until I can support myself?

    thanks!

Yes, working will affect alimonyicon. But I suspect the most you could get anyway is temporary alimony. In a 5 year marriage, alimony is normally not a strong claim.

The best thing for you do do at this point is to develop your own career.
