Default Laws for Past Due Child Support

My ex-husband and I divorced in 9/2004 in Rochester, NY. I immediately left with the 2 children to Texas. My ex made his way to FL soon thereafter. He was and currently is a practicing attorney. He currently practices in Boca Raton. When we divorced he was unemployed and didn't want to pay any child supporticon...under duress (I did not have legal representation) I signed off on him paying 25.00 a month in child support and he was responsible for 50% of medical expenses. He has never paid anything. He was unemployed for quite a while, but now I know he has been employed by a law firm in Boca Raton for at least over a year. It states in the divorce that he was supposed to notify me (within 10 days) when he had found work and he also had to disclose his salary. I am going through the attorney generals office in Texas to attempt to collect past due support and to modify the existing support. Does Florida law allow me to collect on all the past medical expenses as well?

Yes, but sometimes that issue will be ignored by child supporticon enforcement. You may need a private attorney.

Here is a hint: it may be a violation of Florida Bar rules for an attorney to ignore their child support order.
