In a 36 year marriage there may be a very strong claim to alimony. But that claim is created in a divorce. So until you file for divorce your spouse can get away with whatever he wants.

My husband left me after a car accident while I was still in a wheelchair facing a 2nd surgery. I didn't walk for 9 months after the accident, but he couldn't wait to get to the bars to date new women. When he left we were maxed out on bills. He has lowered the alimony3 times and we finally agreed upon 250 a week but 643 for the credit card accounts. Today he calls me when we are finally ready to file and says he's not paying me anymore, he's tired of losing income to me and he doesn't owe me anything. Can he do this? Don't I have any rights as the injured party? They have filed foreclosure on my home, he knows I'm supposed to be out on the street in 3 weeks, and he cuts me off cause he thinks he can. What are my rights?
