Custody - He's trying to take my babies

In December, my ex and I split up. We were never married. I allowed him to stay until March so that he could get the money together to get his own place. He moved out. We set up a visitation schedule. He has missed several days, not calling not showing but I've never kept the kids from him. He paid $20 a week for child support for a short while, but has since stopped paying even that. He now has a new girlfriend which he has moved in with after a month. I still arrange for him to take the kids. I make reasonable accommodations for him when he is running late for work or has to rearrange the visits with the children. However he is not accessible to the older child via phone. He is fighting me for primary custody of the children. I am afraid of him getting custody. He has them 3 nights a week usually and I have them 4 nights and all days except for half a day on Sundays. Is it likely that the court will give him physical custody of the children? I provide their childcare, their health insurance, and take them to all appointments. I have made all of this accessible to him. I have included him in everything I've done, decisionwise. Are my fears unfounded? I'm terrified of losing my babies.

There is very little info here for me to base my response. But my quick guess is that the judge will most likely continue the current pattern the two of you have established. It should like an almost equal co-parenting situation.
