    Default alimoney modification

    I have been divorced for 10 years. I make much less then I did then, She is doing great. She is in Palm Beach County. I live in New Port Richey. I am barely paying my bills. Can I get my 1500.00 a month for life alimoney reduced ?

    It depends on what the divorce decree states. If the alimonyicon was an agreed amount for a period of time and was labeled as "non-modifiable" then you cannot modify it. If, however, you are paying permanent periodic alimony then the presumption is that it is modifiable. You can file a Supplemental Petition to Modify Alimony, have her personally served and argue to the court (in your petition and in the hearing) that there has been a substantial change in circumstances relating to your ability to pay and her need for the support.

    I will have to check. I know that I have to pay her untill she dies or gets married again(not Happening). I will check thanks.
