How things get started
My daughter has finally gotten a courtdate for custody and child support
for her 2 1/2 yr old son. The father has been unemployed since the son's birth, thus no child support has ever been paid. Daughter is working, carries insurance for herself and son. All Pro Se paperwork has been processed and submitted. The father has not filed any response and is now threatening to appear with a cousin who is a lawyer. Will this adversely impact the goal of finalizing custody and support in a timely manner?
Additionally, the father thinks he is entitled to child suppport rather than her.

You did not mention who has the child.
Yes, the appearance of a party and attorney can possibly chance the direction of a case.
