I have a three year old I currently watch (as often as I can). Her primary caregiver is a removed aunt or cousin. Her mother resides in Georgia, dropped the child off here in Fl. approx. 2 yrs. ago. The living conditions she is forced to live in are deplorable to say the least. She told me she does not want to go back because the bugs crawl all over her. I need an action plan so she may be removed from this mess, and I would volunteer to be her guardian, I just do not know what direction I need to take. Family svcs. was called once and nothing was done. Pls. let me know what action I need to take ASAP for this poor child.

I assume you are not a blood relative? The only way the child can be removed from her current home is through child protective services. They must find something of great concern. Then, and only then, can you have any chance of becoming a temporary guardian of the child.
