Lying on fincial affidavit
My husband and I have been seperated for a year and a half now. The divorce was filed in March 2010. We have 3 children together. He filed his fincial affidavit in Feburary 2010. On there he states he is paying the 250 a month for "our" (I was the cosigner) van. However, In June I called the dealership to verify. I am then told he has not made a payment since December 2009 and that was only a partcial payment. The dealership said they spoke with his mother regarding the matter of nonpayment. When asked where I was because I was the cosigner she said she did not know. She also informed them to come repo the van. Therefore, he knew in Feburary he had not been making payments on the van. I called his attorney and she made him release the van to me. That same day I took it to car lot and sold it for only the balance owed. So I now have papers from the dealer we bought the car from stating every payment he has ever made, the papers from the carlot I sold it to stating it was paid in full. And his fincial affidavit. Can he get in trouble for this? I am assuming that when he signed it it is then considered a legal binding document stating everything on there is correct. Am I right?

I doubt there will be much, if any trouble. Small white lies on a financial affidavit rarely come back to haunt anyone.
