    Default Serving a deported spouse

I've decided to divorce my husband, who currently lives in Mexico. I live in Florida, and that's where we were married almost three years ago. We've been separated two and a half years, one of those during which he served a jail sentence for domestic violence before being deported. I'm concerned about how to best serve him divorce papers. I have his address and I'm very confident that he will sign the papers without issue. We have no children, property, etc. Do I have to find a process server in Mexico? What kind of credentials do they have to have, if so? How do I find one? Do I have to translate the papers into Spanish, even though he reads/speaks English if he's to be served there? Can he use a notary from there on his paperwork? I just want to do this as quickly as possible and I would appreciate any advice you could give me. For once the problem isn't my spouse, it's the process! HELP!!

International service can be very, very complicated.

If he is willing, you can have him sign an acceptance of service. It is cheap, quick, and easy. It will do away with the need for a process server.
