In need of help

My brother is in the process of getting a divorce and his wife has called child abuse on him several times to try and get him into trouble. She has made statements that she will do anything she can to get him thrown in jail. She has tried to have him arrested on a domestic injunction as well, but that was not approved by the judge. He does not have the money for an attorney and needs advice on what to do. She is refusing to let him see the kids at this time and states that her attorney said not to let him see them until it goes to court and the papers are signed. She keeps telling him that the divorce paperwork is in he mail but that has been since October and he still has not received anything. She is a compulsive liar and we are not even sure if she has an attorney at this point. Is there anything we can do? We believe she may be forcing the kids to lie as she just recently called child abuse again with more lies.

This is a really complex situation - not appropriate for a short answer. Most, if not all people can afford a limited, one-time meeting with an attorney to read all the documents and lay out a strategy plan. That is what he really needs at this point.

How can we find out if she really has the attorney still representing her? Are we allowed to request any paperwork from her attorney. She obtained the attorney in October but there has been no paperwork done. She keeps stating that it is in the mail and my brother should receive it any day. This has been since October. Can she get into any trouble if she is making false statements in regards to what the attorney may or may not have said. How much would it be for a consultaion with divorce paperwork already done and can arrangements be made to make payments?
