    Default Child Support Unemployed

My child's father is currently unemployed, but i know he has several million in the bank and he has a home valued at $500,000 plus several cars. If i take him to court for child supporticon and he says he is unemployed, which is true, will he not have to pay any child support? I am employed but i only make about 15/hr. I am not looking for a ton of money just enough for the basics, insurance, daycare etc.... He lives in FLorida and i live in another state. Thanks!!

You both will need to submit a financial affidavit to the court and also provide your financial information through what is termed "mandatory disclosure" as part of the process. You can speak to an attorney about what it takes to have the court impute a salary to him (this is a very detailed, technical and unique task) based on his living expenses and available assets.
