    Default Credit Card

Hi there my husband and I are separated- not legally- and he opened a credit card in my name. We live in Florida and I have no idea if I'm protected against this-Being that we are still legally married is he allowed to do this?

Nothing in the law allows spouses to open credit lines in the other person's name. But if he has your personal info, it is easy to do.

You can call the credit company to close the card.

Also, you may want to consider subscribing to a credit protection service - that will alert you. Also, I believe you can call each credit reporting agency to put a hold on records access. I am not sure about the last part, so make some calls.
