    Default Grounds to change attorney?

I have a dilemma. My attorney suggested I find out information regarding my estranged husband. But I have a restraining order against him. Wouldn't that jeopardize my case if I'm snooping? Is that not what I'm paying the attorney a hefty fee for? Is this a RED FLAG??? We haven't gone to court yet, but will in a few weeks. I need to make a decision. I have spoken with him about other concerns but I'm not 100% sure this is the right attorney to represent my interests. Thank you.

Depending on what you do it can endanger your restraining order.

I do not think it is necessarily a red flag. Sometimes we have clients do some leg work to save them some money.

It may be worth it to you to have a paid consult - for the purpose of reading your court documents, listening to recent events, and giving a second opinion. Do that before firing your attorney. A good attorney will give an honest opinion on the quality of your current strategy.
