If I bring a list of the Florida Family Law Statutes that I believe apply to my case to my hearing with the GM, is he obligated to listen to my pleading and follow the statutes or does he have leeway as to his personal opinion etc.

Follow up question: if he does not follow statutes, do I have grounds to appeal his decision?

The General Magistrate and judge must follow the Florida Family Law Statutes, however, their interpretation of them may vary based on case law.

You can bring them to the hearing but the GM likely already knows them and will follow the case law applicable to that statute.
