Question Shared Parenting in the military

How does shared parentingicon work if we are both in the military? I may be PCS'd to another duty station soon. I will have the larger share of parenting time. The child is a newborn.

It is always an interesting dynamic for military parents and time sharing. Shared parentingicon in Florida means that you both should discuss and attempt to agree on issues relating to health care, education, religion etc. You both should communicate on all issues relating to the child. Shared parenting is sometimes misconstrued to mean equal time sharing. But the legislature and most of the Judges agree/intend it to simply mean that the parents should "share" the responsibility of decision making.

So, what happens if I get PCS'd to another state and Ihave custodial and legal care of the baby?
Does he get to say I can't take the baby with me?
Even if he only gets the baby for a few days out of the year?

I suggest you look up a new concept called Concurrent Custody. It is a new law in Florida and I think it may help you.
