Dad Keeping Kids From Me

My husband and I split up 6 years ago. We never bothered getting divorced as I didn't see the need. We have 2 kids together, they have always lived with me, I pay all expenses solely (he's given me $200 over the last 3 years), he hasn't been employed for 3 years. I'm having trouble with the 12 yr old boy-leaves whenever he feels like it, etc. I asked my husband to keep the boy for a few wks to give him a chng of enviroment. I would keep our 11 yr old daughter as she has is stable at home. I let both stay for spring break. Now he won't let either come home....at first he said he'll only take both or none, now he won't give me either back. What can I do?

You must file for divorce. Otherwise there is no rule or law that gives the kids to you.
