boyfriend arrested for domestic violence; can ex get kids?

My boyfriend was arrested for domestic violence against me when my children WERE NOT in the home. We're considering reconciliation with anger management and therapy. My ex husband says he's going to file to get primary custody (we currently have shared) unless I sign something saying that my boyfriend will never be in the presence of my kids. My kids have never witnessed anything negative between boyfriend and me and they have a good relationship with him. Can ex make me keep my kids away from my boyfriend?
