Default Alimony - time and $$

I know there is no set rule but trying to get a felling for what might be "normal". Been married 13 years and wife has stayed home with the kids for 10 years having a part time job the last two making maybe $600 a month. My income is about $140K per year and I would file for divorce and have it all finalized before our 14th anniversary if that helps.

Again, I know it's all up to the judgeicon from what I read but just trying to understand what to expect.

    Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the calculators. While I'm sure they are for guidance, what about the whole ability to pay? What if the Calculatoricon says I need to pay $5K but that leaves me with a $1K deficit each month?

It depends on what type of expenses are causing your deficit and whether they are needed or traditional.

Yes ... "Need" and "Ability to Pay" are the most important concepts in an alimonyicon determination. You both deserve to continue the marital lifestyle. Alimony is not intended to enrich one person while placing the other in poverty.
