    Angry Alimony

    I was married in Georgia but getting my divorce in Florida. I have no children by my wife but have stepchildren (never adopted them). My stepchildren receives Social Security benefits of which my wife is the payee. Once the divorce is finalized SS will no longer consider the children dependents and stop the benefits. Can my wife ask for alimonyicon to get the money she will be losing from the SS benefits.

    She can ask for alimonyicon if other factors support it. The fact that disability payments to the children will end is a separate issue.
