Question What is the differance of someone filing an answer and not a counterpetition?

I filied for divorce "pro se" and I'm not sure of a few things... My question is: My "hope to soon be ex" filed an answer to my petetion and not a counter petition. What does that mean? He only put he agrees with none other than the marriage is broken and disagrees with all other than the marrage being broken, but asked for nothing of what he wants.

    Thanks,
    Dawn

If you do not file a Counter Petition you:

Cannot be the one that conducts the final hearing

    Cannot request alimonyicon

    Probably cannot recover attorney fee

Cannot request misc other items - depending on which judgeicon you have

I think that in a contested case it is very important to always file a counter petition.
