People in Florida have a misconception that they are guaranteed 50/50 time sharing. The statute was written to promote 50/50 decision making (shared parentingicon). It is in place to promote co-parenting. When one parent works more than the other parent it might be likely that the children will spend a substantial time with each parent but not necessarily 50/50. For example: If Dad works 5 days a week 8 - 10 hours a day and mom works 2 days a week for 8 hours a day. It is likely that mom will have majority time sharing. Each case is special and unique.
