It is likely only if the onset of the MS was during the marriage. Otherwise, I do not believe alimonyis possible in such a short term marriage.
My wife and I were married in march 2008 and separated 6 months later. I am now wanting to file for divorce and she is claiming she wants alimonybecause she has MS and I make $100,000. a year. I only made 60k when we were together. I actually lost my job back then. My house went into foreclosure and I have all the debts collectors calling me. We do not have any children together but I have sole custody of my 11 year old daughter. Her mother has not contact with her and I do not receive child support
. When we separated, I gave her most of assets. I didn't even have a kitchen table to eat on. With her income only being disability and my higher income, how likely is it that I will have to pay her alimony?
It is likely only if the onset of the MS was during the marriage. Otherwise, I do not believe alimonyis possible in such a short term marriage.

She was diagnosed with MS years before I met her. I did not even know she had MS until we had been dating for a few months. We would go dancing on the weekends.
Then alimonywould be unlikely.
