I do seem to recall something about that from a prior case - that military disability has more protections.
You should be able to reopen your divorce case and ask the judgeto offset the change by taking something else from him.
I have a court order from a 1989 divorce settlement awarding half military retirement as alimony. Over the years my exhusband has tried numerous time to avoid paying the awarded alimony. Now he is filing for 100 percent disability due to a recent medical illness so he can avoid paying the alimony. We both live in Florida and the court order is in Florida. Can he do this and get out of paying alimony? What are my options?
