Default What is the financial affidavit(short) used for when filing joint custody?

    Hello,
Child's father has retained an attorney and has said that he is filing a divorce with joing custody. He has given me the financial affidavit(short) to fill out. My question is, what would this affidavit be used for?

In a family law case each party is required per the rules to complete, sign/notarize a family law financial affidavit. If you make less than $50,000 then you can fill out the "short" form. If you make greater than $50,000 or you receive a Request to Produce a Long Form then you will fill out the Long Form. The court can use these affidavits to calculate child supporticon, alimonyicon, distribute assets/liabilities, etc.
