If you properly object, she cannot move without a court order. That is assuming there is a divorce in progress. Until a case is filed, she can move.
My wife's mother lives with my wife's grandparents in Illinois. We currently live in Florida. If we get divorced I'm concerned that she will take my 1 1/2 year old son and move to Illinois to be near her mother. I tried to research the laws that govern this but I am a bit confused. Is there anything I can do to keep this from happening? I'm OK with joint custody but I want him near the same city as me so that I can see him a few times a week (or more).
Any and all advise will be welcomed.
Thanks.
