Normally the change will be effective as of whenever the modificationwas filed. Many courts will date the change as of the time when child support
should have terminated for that child.
I'm in the process of reducing child supportfrom two children to one and my ex is delaying any agreement (our divorce documents just specify a single amount for both kids. My oldest turned 18 and graduated high school in Jun. Will the reduced child support be retroactive to Jun or will it start when the amount is entered in the courts? I've been paying the full amount since Jun and need to know if I'm entitled to a "rebate" for the overpayment. The state is Florida.
