Default How to compel a parent to provide documents for in-state tuition of daughter?

The non-custodial parent is a Florida resident. The college wants her to supply her license, marriage certificate of new spouse and one other document, like utility bill to prove residency for in-state tuition purposes. She is refusing to do this. She was ordered to pay child supporticon for 16 years and never made a payment, and has been non-existent in my daughter's life. My daughter recently contacted her and just wants her to provide this information.

My daughter and I live in NY and will be moving to Florida in November.

Is this a family court matter? Can we also get a declaratory judgment stating that the mother has lived in Florida for the past 12 months in order to satisfy the school's requirement? The mother has lived in Florida her entire life.

Is this something your office can handle?

Is the child now over the age of 18?

I assume this was a NY court order?

Sorry. The Florida courts would not have jurisdiction over this matter. Their power ends when a child becomes an adult.

You should try researching Michigan law. Every state is different.
