You only have an obligation to the child that was born to both of you. The other child will not be an issue.
Thanks in advance for reading this. I'm a father about to seperate from my wife of 11 years (and divorce shortly afterwards), and wondering about a few things. Firstly, there are 2 children living in the marital home. One is mine, the other, hers from a prior relationship. The child from the prior relationship did not take on my last name after I married her mother, so carries her mother's last name prior to marriage. She is also a teen, and starting high school. My question would be, if the wife is awarded primary parent would I have to pay child supportfor both children or just the childe conceived during the marriage? Again, nothing's been 'officially' filed yet. I've started doing legwork to get my ducks in a row, though.
