Value of pre/post marital stocks?
Soon to be ex activly managed both premarital and marital stocks. We have agreed on the 50:50 split of the house and most assets, except for stocks and retirement account. As many of these these are/were comingled, and had contributions during the marriage (12 years) she wants to take the premarital values (of hers only, I have to hire someone if I wish to do it this way) and bring her values forward to today, then subtract them out. I can see this happening if there were no trades, but the portfolios are literally many inches thick. The real concern to me is that she was extremely aggressive on "her" management of "her" stocks, while mine were managed very conservativly. I read something somewhere that premarital stocks remain premarital only if they increase in value due to increase in value of the held stocks; but any gain thru active trading would be marital gains? What do you think, do I hire an accounting firm to do what she is doing, to mine? I understand that no 2 accountants would come up with the same numbers? I would like to take what we have now, simply subtract back out the pre marital values, and split the result it 50:50, but can I convince a court of it (both our incomes are about equal) if it goes to contested?
Thanks!

Yes, I believe your considered strategy is a good one.
It will be very difficult for her to carry her own argument without also support the same version for you.
It would be worth the money for you to hire an accountant.
