    Default alimony reduction

I was married 21 yrs, 2 ch, div almost 7 yrs now. Our agreement thru mediation pays me minimal lifelong alimonyicon. He has lived very well but in r.e., so is now in bad shape financially. He has asked to reduce by 2/3 or eliminate it entirely--and not just temporarily. I do have a business but that income is ending too--the difference is, he has run out of assets (all r.e.), while I have protected mine (its drastic reduction in value I trust to return before I need it). I'd like to work it out without lawyers, but don't want to be taken advantage of either. There are other side issues but the big question is, are the rules changing with the economic downfall? Thanks.

I am not really sure what your question is.

But based on your comments - it seems only fair to agree to a reduction. I would not terminate alimonyicon entirely. And you may want the reduction to be temporary (end by a certain date).
