Question about Florida CSE
I have a question for those of you who use The Florida child support
Enforcement... How many of you are satisfied with the results your getting from them? I ask because (please excuse the rant) .... Today I went to court because my Ex was in contempt for not paying his child support for the last 10 months, he claimed he had no money to pay the support YET he had money to pay over 4 thousand dollars for bail and tickets he had gotten within that time, he also had the money for 1st last and security to move into a new house, pay rent on that house, come up with an electric deposit, reinstate his Drivers license(1st time/not support related) and buy his beer, his cigarettes and his drugs..... YET he had no money???? .... It ticks me off with my Counties CSE because It took 7 months for them to FINALLY suspend his Drivers License (he contested it the first time (it was already suspended) and got off with a warning but was ordered (by Court) to pay 1 months support within 30 days or it would be suspended WHAT A JOKE! CSE stepped in and gave him extra time and YET he STILL did not pay anything) 2 months later they finally suspended it then it took another 2 months to suspend his CNA license..... After 10 months of him paying NOTHING and them letting him slide they FINALLY found him in contempt and a court date was set. Going into court today I thought for sure CSE was FINALLY going to do SOMETHING.... Boy was I WRONG.... The lawyer CSE appointed me was a JOKE, he did everything but bend over and kiss my Ex's butt. This SO CALLED lawyer let my Ex get off with a smack on the wrist. He asked my Ex how much money he had with him today and my Ex told him $40, I thought to myself no way is he going to let this jerk get off with paying only $40 especially since he has not payed ANYTHING in over 10 months (Stupid Me) This JOKE of a lawyer not only accepted the $40, he added the back support to the arrears, made my Ex current on support and had the judge
reinstate both his license. (UMMM HELLO????) It took 10 MONTHS of my child getting NOTHING, having to sit back and watch while CSE let my Ex slide by on EVERYTHING for them to FINALLY find him in contempt and it ONLY took $40 for them to let him off the hook!!! .. FLORIDA CHILD SUPPORT ENFORCEMENT IS A JOKE!!! It's sad to know that Florida don't care about our kids, they care more about the deadbeats. I'd REALLY like to know when the state of Florida is going to WAKE UP and care about our kids for a change!

Not sure if I responded to your post previously or not. My x recently got temp custody of my children due to the fact that I did not file papers to relocate them. I am still owed over 6500 for back child support
. The IRS took my taxes for my back support when I was still owed money. I emailed the Gov office and the DORCSE and kept emailing them. That was in Jan. I have a court date set in April. The Squeaky wheel does get the grease! I know what you mean. I told the Gov that the CSE should be renamed the "I DON'T KNOW, I CAN'T HELP YOU AND CAN NOT DIRECT YOU TO THE PERSON WHO CAN DEPT! But just keep at them and hopefully you can get what you need.
Good Luck.
God Bless.

I have 2 different scenarios with CSE in Florida. I am sorry if this is long winded but it makes me ill to think people have to deal with CSE ever!
I am the custodial parent in one instance. My ex lives in Il., this is where we were married and divorced. Ex husband pays me religiously every two weeks, he actually pays a few dollars more then he is ordered. Anyway, I had to stop working due to pregnancy complications and apply for medicaid. This was not something I was happy about because I had never had to ask for assistance from anyone in the past. I was told at the medicaid office that I needed to "comply with CSE" in order to receive medicaid. I informed them there was no issue with child support
, they said that I asked for assistance so this was what I had to do to get it. I went to cse to "comply", I told them I had no issue , the father paid more then the ordered amount . They said fill out this paper , it was an arrears affidavit. I put down there were no arrears and made them notarize it in front of me and copy it so that I could give my ex a copy if there was a problem. There was a problem 6 months later. He had continued to pay me even after I went to cse because we talked about it. I told him if they took money out of his check to let me know so I didnt expect payment from him. 6 months after this happened and I already had my daughter and was off medicaid they took about $900.00 out of his pay check in Il. with no warning at all, no hearing ,no letter. He had also paid me out of that same check and that check bounced causing us both hardship. After the next paycheck they took out the regular amount he said. It took me 3 1/2 months to actually receive anything from cse after they started taking the money out of his checks. I was extremely upset knowing they took 900.00 from his pay for supposed arrears and finally sent me a check for $5.00 less then he was ordered to pay me (221.00) and called it a processing fee. it took us 2 more months to get them to stop taking money out of his check and about 6 months for him to get back that $900.00 they took. That was my personal experience with cse.
The other is my husband's experience. He was paying support for 2 kids. One kid moved in with us over the summer. In november there was a hearing , the one who moved in with us will stay with us. judge
said to come back for cs hearing to modify it. We are still waiting. We were told by attorney that mother hasnt sent financial's in. We are told by cse via letter that there should be a reduction and to call and find out new amount and sign agreement. Husband calls CSE asks what the new amount is and they say there is no amount to tell him. I think this whole cse thing is crazy! They are the ones who sent him the letter to find out the new amount, yet they can not tell him one. Lawyer hasn't told us anything either. All we know is that husband is ordered to pay for 2 kids living with mom even though one had been here since June. Husband was told by a woman in the cse office not to pay any more until there is a hearing because he shouldnt have to pay that. He stopped paying in Jan yet his license was going to be suspended last Monday if he didnt pay something , so he paid what they told him to just to keep his license. I hope this junk is worked out soon with CSE, we can not afford to pay for 2 kids when 1 is here.
Mom wont allow husband to see other kid and we cant seem to get anything done about that either.
