Default custody and relocation--what steps do I need to take?

My husband is currently incarcerated on a non-violent mixed weapons and drug felony conviction. He is due out in April. I moved out of our rented home when he went to jail and want a divorce. (This is not his first felony conviction either, but the first since we were married 11 years ago.)

Since then, I have been offered a very good job, which includes free rent (management of a kennel) in Pennsylvania. To make the deal even better, I am originally from PA and this means that I will also have family nearby. (Something my son has never known.)

I'm pretty certain my husband is going to fight this. What steps do i need to take to do this legally. I cannot afford an attorney.

    Thank you!

To cover yourself you need to file for divorce in Florida and ask the court for permission to relocate.

Of course, if you like taking chances, you can move now. There is no law that says you cannot move right now. But as you stated, he can fight it in court when he gets out.
